Happy Hump Day!

An Updatish randomish post

So, gardening again. . .my favourite thing to do. o_O

Dr. Evil finally mowed down most of the jungle that had become our backyard and I can actually see the swing set now. I took those heavy clippers and nicked most of the giant spawning plants. With the rain and the monster plants, I honestly began to think that I was somewhere tropical cutting through the bush. Dr. Evil said he really wants a cutlass (machete) so that he can hack his way through everything. I can certainly agree with him as our yard is some kind of monsoon season, bugs everywhere, out of control plants that need to be chopped the f**k down!!! Forgive my language kiddies.

Also, while attempting to make the front lawn less ugly. . .it will still be ugly. . . we're just trying to make it less so. Dr. Evil and I are trying to put the plastic stripping down to create a definitive border because clean and orderly lines is the Canuck way to do things. Well, every so often while putting the shovel or garden claw in . . .it goes clunk! Lo and behold we found that underneath our dirt was chunks of concrete and brick. Not small chunks. . .Large ones!! So now a job that should have just taken a couple of hours is taking a couple of days. I would dearly like to ask the previous owner what compelled him to throw dirt on top of a border that was already there. . .jacka**! I'm glad it rained though. . .it will make the digging a lot easier.

Other news in my life. . .Opposite George will kill me because I haven't called her in over a week. It is the equivalent of abandoning my soul mate so I will rectify this as soon as possible. The main reason for this slight is because I've been out doing the g*dd*mn gardening all the freakin' time. She will not understand this. . .because she is my jealous girlfriend :P

BJL is getting married! YAY!! I love weddings and this was probably my only chance to attend a Jewish Lesbian wedding but alas. . .my heart is broken because I won't be able to go. So never in my life will I get to say that I got to attend a Big Jewish Lesbian, woe is me :( It sounds like it will be really nice. . .held on the waterfront in a mansion. At least Dr. Evil gets to go. I'm fairly sure though that I'm the only one out of that mutual group of friends that she invited. I'm still sorry that the exes couldn't be friends. . .but hey. . .hurt feelings are hurt feelings.

Soon-to-be-divorcee took me out for Japanese yesterday. I took it upon myself to call her since I think she got the hint that I needed some alone time during the weekends. . .mostly so that I could walk around naked. Turns out now that she will not be soon-to-be-divorcee since her and significant other will be getting back together. Hope they can make work this time especially for their son; I'll also have to find a new name for her. Dr. Evil watched all the kiddles for us while we went out and he just told me "Man, that kid just behaves so bad!" He then itemized to me a list of disciplinary actions he had to take to get him to behave. I simply told him. . ."yeah, I know." I already know first-hand it's not easy to rein in two and three year- olds but it gets especially hard when you just don't care to do it.

As for the kids; they're doing pretty good. Thing One is not healed yet but she's getting there. I'm able to take her outside and I have been for the past couple of days while I've been gardening. Heck, I even finally got to use my Barbeque and I did them up some burgers and hot dogs. Since I haven't barbequed in well. . .years. . .I forgot how easy it was and how delicious food turned out. I had done up some huge triple A steaks the other day too.

I also took the twins to Marineland and it's just as boring as I remembered it to be. Even more so now because I found out the Killer Whales don't perform anymore. I didn't watch the show when I was there but since I have a season pass to go the next I'm there I'll see how they changed the show up. I liked seeing the belugas though. . .it seemed like they were showing off to us. The trainers were nice. We asked them about a billion questions regarding everything and anything about the killer whales. She must have thought I was weird though when I asked her if the whales could mate with other species of whales and I referenced a mule and liger. She kindly told me that it was not a weird question and that in Hawaii there was a Wholphin. A Killer whale was housed with a female dolphin and they had offspring. I'm still sure she thought I was some kind of freak for asking her that. o_O

A Wholphin. . .yeah. . .freaky

The Weather

Yeah, I'm going there. Now of course I don't have much to complain about. Cool and rainy weather doesn't bother me so much but it would be nice to have at least a couple sunny days. This is mostly because, even though I have a deck there is shade of covering on it of any sort and I would like to sit outside even if the weather is wet. Mostly because I would like some fresh air as staying in constantly tends to, of course make one depressed and Vitamin D deficient.

Now I know some folks are very upset that the weather hasn't gotten any better because it's the end of july and there really is only one more month of summer left before leaves start falling off trees and all that jazz. Well, I think I'm on the verge of agreeing with them. . .some sun would be nice. . .o_O

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

This is a shout-out post to Lalalallleeesssaaa's baby girl who is another year older today. Boy, how time flies. At the time I was getting married, one of my best friends was going to become a mother. You see folks like us are totally into doing things at an early age ;) As I recall, my good friend looked like she hadn't gained any weight and that she had simply stuffed a basketball under her shirt. Well, that basketball came out. A mini-version of my friend; pink and all but with nicer hair:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lil' LISA :)

Happy Anniversary . . .to me! HA!

Well, my anniversary wasn't today; it was actually on Monday. Yuppers, July 13th is when Dr. Evil and I hung out at City Hall 7 years ago and made things all legal-like. Good thing too because we had been living in sin there for quite a while!

It's very surprising to me how much can change from the time I was 21 to 28. It really doesn't seem that it's been as long as that. I went from having not much of anything when I was 21 to meeting and having a boyfriend, a college education and two very cute munchkins in a house bigger than I thought I'd ever have.

Sometimes I think about that what if? scenario. What if I had gone ahead with my plan of moving to the middle of nowhere to get a job. What if I had never me Dr. Evil or decided to keep that job instead of going to college? What if I had decided to not have kids? Boy, it would certainly be a VERY different life. . .that's for sure. Too bad I can't have one of those machines that shows you what would have happened in an alternative life; that would quite a novelty!

Nah, I guess I'm happy with what I picked out for myself. Dr. Evil and I spent our anniversary watching Event Horizon and eating the cheapest possible food (taco bell - well, we're broke whaddya expect!). We did this at around 11 at night because Dr. Evil had to work super late as usual. I spent most of my day talking to my soulmate. . .Opposite George. . .we have an understanding ;P

So, as wonder what life might have been like it things were different. . .that's fine, because the reality is pretty damned good :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. . .TO MEEEEEEEE! HA!!

Stuck in my Head

(yeah, I saw these at the circus. . .it was trippy!)

Ever get a bit of a song stuck in your head and for the life of you, you can't remember it?

Yeah, that happens to me very frequently. Mostly because I'm getting old and nostalgic. . .I want to be able to find the music that I used to listen too and enjoy. This song that got stuck in my head I knew was a Michael Jackson song that I really loved but just could not remember it. I could hum it but I just couldn't get the words in. I would hear brief clips of it on montages that CNN, and CBC and those other stations would play when talking about him but they would never play it enough that I could hear what the title of the song was!! It was grating on my nerves that I couldn't remember it because I associated a good memory with it.

I was sure it was the song that was playing when I went to my first wedding when I was around 7 or 8. Now those of you who know me . . .know that I LOVE weddings. I enjoy every aspect of them. I would go out of my way to attend one. I think they are a great celebration of love and the little details involved always tell me a bit about the couple. Elegant weddings, party weddings, last-minute weddings. . .yup, I love them all!! This wedding I went to was the first wedding of my cousin and it was a very 80's, princess, party, extravagant affair. They were playing this song and I really loved it. . .so having this happy memory. . .I wanted the song to go with it so that it could help me remember more about what happened. For some reason. . .songs make me remember things more fully. A time in my life or a specific memory. . .some songs will just make me do a total recall.

So I had given up trying to find this song. I spent so much time searching through Michael Jackson songs to find it but well. . .it's g*ddamned Michael Jackson. . .he's got HUNDREDS of songs!!!

So that brings me to my second part here. For the first time ever I went to the circus. The Shrine circus specifically. It was great. . .I loved the performers and the animals. I think the girls were expecting to see lions but there were only dogs, horses and elephants. Mind you, those animals were great performers. I loved the acrobats and there were plenty of those. I was wondering if all the adults were as pervy as me when watching them. . .but hey, those were some good-looking trapeze artists ;)

Well, halfway into the flying horses act. . .THEY PLAYED THE SONG!!! I so wanted to squeal "OHMIGOSH, IT'S MY SONG!!!" but seeing how I was front row and center I didn't think that would be a good idea. Also, I'll have to remember not to listen to my parents and sit somewhere that the spotlight will constantly be on me. Thing 2 fell asleep during the second half and everyone under the big top could see us while the clowns were literally two feet away performing in front of us. And, I was dressed pretty crummy and not wearing make-up. . .but they played the damn song. . .and that was important!!

I finally remembered everything about the wedding and as I was enjoying the glittery horses flying past I vowed to remember what that song was. So naturally, by the time I had gotten home. . .I had forgotten it again.

This morning though I had a vague dream about attending the wedding and the song playing . . the only words I remembered were "can't stop." So I googled Michael Jackson and "can't stop" and I finally found the song that I have been humming every day for a while now. Thank you internet and google!!

Now I shall listen to it about a hundred times since I was so excited to find it :)

So how's Summer going for you?

Well for me. . .very boring. Inbetween not having any vitality and no funds. Yeah. . .pretty damned boring. . .at this point. . .it wasn't much different than winter.

There just doesn't seem to be that much free stuff to do anymore. I called up the rec centre and they said it was $15 to go swimming for one time and the pass is $35. I was like "what the H*LL!" I have to pay to go to a public pool here???!!!! No wonder so many of my neighbours have their own pools.

On the plus side I'm getting my vitality back. Managed to get my place to at least an upgraded condition after the wrath of Dr. Evil was placed upon it. Still have a ways to go. . .

It looks like I will now have to invest in an expensive lawnmower. I attempted to mow my lawn but since the grass now reaches my waist I can no longer do it with my pushmower. I had hoped Dr. Evil would have done it in the time that I was laid up but since he did not I don't have a choice about it since my yard currently looks like a jungle and is unusable. So I will take funds I don't have to proceed with this matter. . .and because I'm more than a little ticked off I've informed Dr. Evil that he gets his wish; the one he constantly kept harping to me about. Now he has all the gardening to himself. I will no longer do it. . .AT ALL!! He can go out and get it done to his heart's content and if it grows too long than it will be completely his responsibility. One less thing for me to worry about is good stuff :)

I got my passport today. . .yippee!! Unfortunately my picture makes me look like some oldie indian aunty. It also appears that I have no neck in the picture. When I was telling Opposite George this she began laughing so hard she started to choke. I saw pictures of the resort we were going to be staying at. It's very pretty. It has a man-made beach on it. I only wish I was going sometime when it was colder because I could probably use it then. As Opposite George put it I absolutely should go since I often sounded like I was having a mental breakdown. I don't doubt that she's right.

I guess my only regret this summer is that I won't be able to plan a great housewarming party. I'm of the schooling that if I can't do it properly than just don't bother doing it. I really wanted to so I could have a way of seeing everyone I haven't seen in a long time. Ah well . . .whenever the funds permit. . .maybe in 5 years??!! LOL

Hope you're summer is going splendidly :)

Random Post

So here's my random/updatish post. Think I really needed one since I haven't posted in a while anyways.

So the kiddles are doing well. Little burn victim's wounds are healing up. Not quite gone yet but getting there so I've been able to take her outside. That helped because my lawn was about a foot long in the front. Since Dr. Evil wasn't going to do it, I got to work. Too bad I'm not ready to tackle the monstrosity that is now my backyard. Hopefully, I'll be able to do so soon.

Getting my energy back. Slowly but surely. My place is looking a little disaster-ish so I've got my work cut out for me to return it to the norm I'm used to as opposed to the norm he's used to.

Don't seem too ill anymore. It might have also been because I discovered I have another mouse in my house. As, I unfortunately found out when I moved in, I'm allergic to mice. I become lethargic, unable to breathe and I break out in skin rashes. Having never been allergic to anything in my life. . .this was pretty alarming to me. So from now on the mice are my mortal nemesis. I think it's about time I had one.

Planning a trip to Marineland. The twins keep seeing the commercial and every single time ask me if we can go. In fact, if they even hear it. . .they dash off running to see it. Marineland to me is meh. . .a glorified aquarium really. Since the girls want to go though I've taken some of our airmiles to get their ridiculously priced passes. Well I should be going in about two weeks. . .since that's how long it will take the damn passes to arrive. Who wants to go with??? :)

So I went out recently and saw someone I used to have a huge crush on. It was very weird seeing the person. As far as I was concerned this person looked just terrific. And here I was. . .looking ummm. . .not decidedly so. It was one of those moments when I wished I was looked really bangin'. I don't often get those moments since I've never really been overly insecure but at that moment I really wished I looked hot too. Ah well. . .maybe it should be a good motivator for me. So in case I ever saw this person again or anyone else I ever feel that way about I'll be able to not have that envy thing happen. Yup, sometimes that envy is a good motivator ;)
My mortal enemy as seen below. . .I was always a Bugs kinda gal anyways
